About Dr Helen Atkinson:
- Dr Helen Atkinson has worked in endocrine research for over 20 years in both academic and public health organisations in Australia and the UK. Helen obtained her PhD from The University of Western Australia and then worked as a Research Fellow at the University of Bristol, UK. When Helen returned to Perth she was involved in reproductive endocrine research at King Edward Memorial Hospital and paediatric endocrine research at Princess Margaret Hospital.
- In recent years Helen has also been involved in research governance within WA Health and in 2018 she became the inaugural Executive Officer of the Clinical Trials & Data Management Centre which is an enabling platform of the WA Health Translation Network (WAHTN).
- In 2021, Helen returned to King Edward Memorial Hospital and the University of Western Australia to take up the position of Manager of the Australian Preterm Birth Prevention Alliance.
The Australian Preterm Birth Prevention Alliance is working to safely lower the rate of early birth across Australia.
