Sarah Ward

Senior Research Fellow, The University of Western Australia

Dr Sarah Ward is a Senior Research Fellow at The University of Western Australia and Manager of the Division of Obstetrics and Gynaecology’s research design and biostatistical team.

She obtained her PhD in genetic epidemiology from The University of Western Australia in 2014 and has since been the recipient of an NHMRC CJ Martin Biomedical Early Career Fellowship and a Department of Health WA Emerging Leaders Fellowship.

She has experience investigating the determinants of cancer and other complex diseases and health conditions, and a track record of successful collaborations on numerous local, national and international research projects. She has worked with large, population-based datasets, linked health records and international and multi-site datasets.

The Australian Preterm Birth Prevention Alliance is working to safely lower the rate of early birth across Australia.
